Will Sutherland has been announced as Victoria's 2023/24 Marsh Sheffield Shield captain.
Following on from last season, where he was impressive in captaining the Sheffield Shield side due to Peter Handscomb's selection for Test duties, Will has been rewarded with the role for the forthcoming season.
His 2022/23 First Class season was superb, hitting 467 runs including his maiden Shield hundred, Sutherland led the competition in wickets with 41 scalps.
Former Shield captain Handscomb has been appointed Marsh One-Day Cup skipper and will assist Will during the season.
Will is expected to continue to lead our First Eleven in 2023/24 when State duties permit.
